A girl of the Hamar Tribe taking a break from dancing at a bull jumping ceremony
The Hamar are a tribe living in South Omo Valley, Ethiopia with a traditional lifestyle celebrating “rites of passage”. The bull jumping ceremony represents a life changing event for the young man who passes from boyhood in to adulthood and last several days. The women perform dances during the ceremony before the boy jumps 3 times over the back of about 15 cows.
Moments I caught with my camera, composed and drawn back home in Vienna.
